When looking to register a domain name you’ll notice that most .com extensions are taken. It can frustrating which is why the .co was created to be a viable alternative. Get your .co extension at Namecheap: https://davidutke.com/namecheap

A .co extension works well enough for websites and blogs. As it is a top level domain extension now instead of a country code it will be treated the same by search engines as equivalent to a .com, .net or a .org.

I’ve personally built a .co website to over 1,500 visits per day so I know it’s possible. But in reality we all want that .com as it is the legacy extension of the internet for commercial websites.

So while getting a .com is ideal it’s not always practical so be flexible about using an alternative domain extension if possible. Last, don’t copy someone else’s domain name. If the .com you want is taken, you can’t simply register the same domain with an alternative extension.
